Young fashion business Supergroup has posted record sales for the Christmas period with a rise in like-for-likes of 29 per cent for the five weeks to January 3rd, a two per cent climb from figures in 2008.
The company, which owns Cult and Superdry, has a total of 39 stores in the UK and Ireland after it opened 17 outlets in 2008, but also has a global presence, with shops in Belgium, France, Australia, the US and Scandinavia, Drapers reports.
Total wholesale figures for the year to January 3rd increased by 153 per cent, while group sales for the same period reached £119 million.
And the firm may also be turning to fashion recruitment agencies for assistance as it has announced that it is currently looking for a new chairman.
In November, the Times reported that Supergroup hired Seymour Pierce to advise on its entry into the FTSE 250, which is expected in the first six months of this year.
