Winners of Walpole Awards announced

The winners of this year's Walpole Awards have been announced, with luxury goods provider Paul Smith being praised for its work in the fashion industry.
The company was named the British luxury brand of 2009 during the ceremony that took place last night (November 17th) and which saw Louis Vuitton named as best international luxury brand, Drapers reports.
Photographer Marino Testino was recognised for his efforts in the industry, being presented with Walpole's medal of excellence for his endeavours in the fashion and luxury sectors.
Speaking regarding this accolade, chief executive of Walpole Julia Carrick remarked that Testino is one of the most "well known and celebrated fashion photographers" in the world.
"He is … hugely deserving of this award for all he has done for British fashion," she was quoted as saying.
Earlier this month, Walpole featured five British fashion labels in its list of Brands of Tomorrow, including sports fashion brand Orlebar Brown, a business specialising in men's swimwear.
