Sports fashion brand Billabong opens new store

Sports fashion label Billabong has opened another store in Innsbruck, Austria, in conjunction with local business Textil Rauscher GmbH.
The 140 sq m outlet will be positioned in the city's Sillpark Shopping Centre - which is near the main station - and is the second of its kind in Austria, after Billabong opened its Salzburg shop in February 2009, Sportswear International reports.
Shop manager Adi Rauscher observed that the sports fashion brand is very popular in Innsbruck, particularly because the firm sponsors the Air & Style snowboard event which takes place in the region.
To honour the launch of the new business, several world famous snowboarders have been invited by Billabong to attend the grand opening, with Antti Autti and Risto Mattila signing autographs on December 4th.
Other brands of Billabong's parent company GSM will also be featured in-store, including Dakin, Element and Kustom Footwear.
In related news, Billabong has brought out a limited edition collection of luxury fashion headwear in a partnership with DBM, all of which have been handmade in Paris.
