Youth fashion brand Mango, which originated in Spain, has opened its first store in Iraq, bringing the company's presence across the world to 95 countries, with a total of 1,360 shops.
Sportswear International reports that the Iraq outlet, which can be found in the Majidi Mall shopping centre in the Kurdish district of Erbil, spans 400 sq ms and has been decorated to reflect the appearance of the brand's other stores - white lighting and monochrome furniture.
It is the latest shop to be established as part of the label's plans to bring in a further 150 premises by the end of the year, in regions such as Manila, Belgrade, Paris, Moscow and New Delhi.
Head of expansion with Mango Isak Halfon said: "Mango's arrival in Iraq represents a challenge for the company, since this is a virgin market."
Earlier this month, the brand announced that MNG by Mango will be launched in up to 75 JCPenney stores in the US. The collection will include both career and sports fashion clothing.
