Luxury fashion brand Burberry has created a new role for its former creative director, Christopher Bailey.
Mr Bailey has been appointed to the position of chief creative officer for the company, Drapers reports, which its chief executive Angela Ahrendts observed was as a result of his contributions since 2001.
She went on to observe that the development of Burberry and its current level of cohesiveness is due to the "clarity, consistency and purity of his amazing vision".
In his new role, Mr Bailey will continue to be in charge of designing all of Burberry's future products and collections and working towards the promotion of the brand image, advertising, multimedia content and corporate art direction.
In related news, Burberry recently launched social media website The Art of the Trench, in which the history of its trademark trench coat is set out and owners of such garments are invited to submit photographs of themselves sporting their luxury fashion wear.
